Anti Ragging

SHANKAR PHARMACY COLLLEGE is ragging-free campus. Ragging in any form is strictly forbidden. Ragging is defined as "Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act having an effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, including any rowdy or in disciplined activity which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student or asking the students to do any act or perform something which a student will not do in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student".

To prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging including any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or indulging in unfair means or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension.




Ragging is totally banned in the College and anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging is liable to be punished as it is a criminal offence.

Objective

a. To prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging including any conduct by any student whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student, or indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student.

b. To monitor, direct and oversee the functions and performance of the Anti-Ragging Squads in prevention and curbing of ragging in the institution.

Responsibilities

a. To be vigilant at all hours all around the campus and other places vulnerable to incidents of and having the potential of, ragging and shall be empowered to inspect such places.

b. To make surprise raids on hostels, and other places vulnerable to incidents and having the potential for ragging.

c. To conduct an on-the-spot enquiry into any incident of ragging referred to it by the faculty or student or parent or guardian, as the case may be: and the enquiry report along with recommendations shall be submitted to the Head of the Institution for action.

d. To ensure the display of posters on Institution and Department Notice Boards and other prominent designated places.

e. To offer services of counselling and create awareness to the students.
